Review The 3rd International Conference On Technology, Education and Social Science

Helo everyone! This is me, Aulia! How are you? I hope you all doing well, happy and healthy.
So, in this post i`m going to write about a review of The 3rd International Conference On Technology, Education and Social Science (ICTESS 3) wich was held on December 10th 2020 at 09.00 am - 02.30 pm for two session.


The first one to open the discussion is keynot speaker the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Commonwealth of Australia, H.E. Ambassador Y. Kristiarto S. Legowo. Mr. Legowo talks about how pandemic is changing every sector, including how diplomacy works. He also talks about great power competitions in politics, security, economics and non-traditional security challenges, such as religion, terrorisms, violence, crimes, warfare, etc.

After that, the next speaker to present their material is Prof. Ts. Dr. Burhanuddin from the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Mr. Burhanudin talks about the impact of Covid-19 to business and economy, wich are:
1. Business community is badly infected in global economy under the impact of Covid-19 pandemic;
2. Maybank Group estimated that the Malaysian economy may shrink by 3.3%;
3. Malaysia Employers Federation estimated that the number of unemployed persons may reach up to 2 million in 2020 with a staggering unemployment rate of 13%;
4. Financial statements which present a true, fair, and timely picture of the business is vital to assist the company to appreciate their financial condition;
5. Companies need to identify problem impacting their financial statement areas and try to think of countermeasures to address the threats to their survival.

Business and company strategy in facing pandemic Covid-19 are:
1. Form call centers and emergency response team immediately;
2. Review staff current locations and their traveling records;
3.  Revisit crisis and continuity plans timely;
4. Evaluate the supply chain management;
5. Identify potential points of failures;
6. Get the right communication right;
7. Use scenario analysis;
8. Do not lose sight of other risks;
9. Conduct research to study how to do things differently;
10. Discover related tools and technology.

The conclusion is the response window for risk in business is measured in days, while recovery is measured in years. Those companies that are well-prepared and ready for changes will always recover quickly from any disaster.

Next speaker is Prof. Takuya Sugahara, Ph.D. from Ehime University Japan. Mr. Sugahara talks about how herbs have so many health benefits. He talks about the spice cumin that has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory wich is so important to our body. He also talks about the collaboration of Japan with Indonesia, especially Ehime University with universities in Indonesia like Gadjah Mada University and University of Papua.

The third speaker Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chin. Min Lin from the National Taichung Institute of Technology, Taiwan, talks about Student’s Internship Experiences. The fourth speak is Dr. Shielilo Amihan from the University of Perpetual Help, Philippines. He talks about accessible, relevant, and sustainable education. Education-wise the impact of the pandemic is on students, parents, and faculty.

The last speaker is from the Slamet Riyadi University itself, Dr. Sri Handayani Marwan. Ms. Handayani talks about how education is the key to the continuity of the economy in the 21st century. She explains that education is a process where a person obtains knowledge, skill, habits, value, or attitudes. There are  4Cs skills in the 21st century that we must have which are, critical thinking as in finding a solution to a problem, creativity as in thinking outside the box, collaboration as in working with others, and communication as in talking to others effectively.

The last session is QnA, there are lots of interesting questions from participants. After that, the seminar for the student ended at 12.30 pm. From that seminar, i got a lot of knowlede. I learn about how Covid-19 has had a tremendous impact and changes almost every sector around the world. How company and businesses have their strategy for facing Covid-19, the benefits of spices and herbs, the benefits of doing an internship in another country, multicultural education, 4Cs skills, and also the collaborations that Indonesia does with other countries.
